IF YOU ARE IN A RUSH YOU CAN GO THROUGH THE MUSEUM IN HALF AN HOUR, BUT YOU SHOULD REALLY ALLOW A MINIMUM OF
45 MINUTES TO AN HOUR FOR MUSEUM VIEWING. JUST TO READ ALL THE INFORMATION DESCRIPTIONS TAKES 1.5 HOURS.
VIEWERS WITH AN INTEREST IN WILDLIFE OFTEN STAY LONGER AND MANY PEOPLE SPEND AT LEAST 15 MINUTES IN OUR AMAZING GIFT SHOP.

The Canadian Wildlife Museum is located in the Okanagan valley, just minutes north of the city of Vernon , just off Highway 97 in the heart of spectacular south central British Columbia, Canada. We are an outstanding kid friendly Tourist Attraction and likely the best Taxidermy Museum you will ever visit. If you want to see Canadian Wildlife in awesome dioramas, a visit here is a must. Nowhere in Canada will you find a more outstanding selection of mounted Canadian birds and animals. This is a place where Nature comes alive, to be shared with all who have an interest in the beauty of Wildlife and Nature. A visit here is something that the entire family can enjoy, and will never forget. The excellence in taxidermy workmanship shows itself in the hundreds of outstanding Canadian Wildlife displays that you will view in the Museum. This amazing Taxidermy Museum is two floors with about 4,000 square feet of wildlife displays. There are over 350 mounted specimens including over 120 Canadian birds of prey as well as many other Canadian birds, and over 115 different species of Canadian wildlife, including most of the different species of Canadian animals. There is also a large butterfly and moth collection. We are without question, one of the top tourist attractions in Vernon B.C. We are an amazing family friendly Tourist Attraction that is a must see, if you are visiting in the Okanagan Valley.

We also feature the "Canadian Wildlife Gift Shop", with a huge selection of unique, Canadian Wildlife and Nature related novelties, souvenirs and gifts for sale. We have a large selection of clothing, jewelry, rocks, carvings, games, puzzles, art cards, note books, calendars, journals, kitchen ware, mugs, plush stuffies, hats, toques, books, ornaments, slingshots, antlers, crafts, and much, much more for sale. In the gift shop we have tried to stock things related to Canada, Wildlife and Nature. We are catering to B.C. Tourism but we have lots of things for local shoppers as well. If you are looking for Wildlife related gifts, you need to come for a visit. The Museum and Gift Shop are a great place to visit, relax and enjoy the outstanding beauties of Canadian Wildlife and Nature, in air conditioned comfort. The Canadian Wildlife Museum's regular summer hours of operation are 9:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Sunday (7 days a week). Winter hours and viewing during other dates or times such as evenings or on weekends will by by appointment only. Spring/summer 2024 opening will be May 17th. to September 2nd. Phone us at 250-545-6090 (Ruth) or 250-545-4614 (Ken) or 250-545-9740 (Museum) to set up an appointment for special Museum viewing times or to shop in our unique gift shop. Recommended viewing time is a minimum of half an hour, but many with an interest in Wildlife will take over an hour to view. Last admission to view Museum is half hour before closing. Appointments are very flexible, so just give us a phone call and we will try to accommodate you as best we can. Appointments will be subject to our availability.
